If you are a professional with a foreign degree and need your foreign credentials evaluated to obtain a US equivalent visit this page.
Parents of Member school districts can receive financial help towards the cost of evaluation.

Advanced ESL Language and Culture
Read books with us in English and learn about American culture!
This class is for Level 4 ESL students and higher, and we read one book in English every semester.
Classes are Wednesday and Friday 9:30am-11:30am at the ELL Parent Center

This class will help you prepare for the citizenship exam and interview. We will also have information on local immigration attorneys and legal aid clinics.

Intensive training School Job opportunities: Parent Participants will gain an insider’s understanding of the school system and strengthen skills they need to support their children throughout school.
The program can also offer a pathway to obtaining a paraprofessional or substitute license and jobs in schools.
Parents who participated in similar programs in the past have been hired by local school districts.

Volunteer Form
Some of the services we might need help with include, but are not limited to
- 1-1 instruction for pre-literate adult ESL learners
- 1-1 digital literacy instruction for adult learners
- interpreting for a parent teacher meeting
- making phone calls in the target language to specific language groups.
- Making informational videos in target languages for a specific language group
- Doing voice overs of given audio or video clips to translate into a target language.
- Networking to bring job opportunities to Limited English Proficient individuals to help improve their work-language skills.
- Proficient bilingual professionals to meet with ELL families to offer advice and provide appropriate guidance related to their need.
- Staff information tables at school events in Skokie.
